Dear brethren of the Southeast US Field,
Greetings and best wishes with the following Words: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (NKJV: 1 Corinthians 15: 57 – 58)
At the beginning of this New Year I want to write some words of encouragements to every member of the Southeast US Field to continue steadfast in the faith that was once given to the saints and at the same time wish you and the family that you represent a very happy and blessed new year 2017.
The year 2016 is now gone to eternity and we are rapidly approaching the fulfillment of the great promise of our God, the Second Coming of Christ. The signs of the coming Savior are visible everywhere. If there was ever a time in which we needed to prepare for this great event it is now. It is my prayer that we take seriously our preparation to heaven and that that day do not take us unaware.
Among the most faithful people who trusted and waited in God’s promises is Abraham. “By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:9-10. Because of his faithfulness and devotion he is called the father of the faithful. From him we learn about the true worship of God, about the training of the children and the right way to manage the household. His godly life in connection to the God of heaven was the reason why he was also called the friend of God.
What a privilege to be called the friend of the Most High. But the good news is that we too can be called the friends of God under the same condition that was placed upon Abraham. Christ said: “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.” John 15:14-17.
Yes beloved brethren a friend must show himself a friend by friendly deeds. Christ is knocking at the door of every heart wanting to come in and to sup with us and to develop and maintain the same type of friendship He showed to Abraham. Our share is to meet the conditions of true friendship to Him.
I would like to appeal to all my brethren that will take a moment to read this letter to seriously consider your eternal salvation and think about the opportunities that we still have to work for the Master and to come boldly to the throne of grace to find refuge in time of need. There are many souls perishing in the world that never heard the good news of salvation. They don’t know that there is a Savior that was wiling to sacrifice His eternal destiny for the salvation of humanity.
Dear brethren in this new year let us take advantage of the probationary time we still have, of the religious liberty we enjoy, the peaceful time we possess so we can become true friend of God by faithfully fulfilling the purpose for which we are called His friend.
May the Lord richly bless you and your dear family.
Your servant in the Master service:
